Spam calls and robocalls

Block unwanted callers in ConnectUC, report spam numbers to Dial Raven, and stop unwanted texts.

Spam calls waste your team’s time. You can block a number yourself in seconds, and report it to Dial Raven so we can look into it.

Report a spam number

Why: reports help Dial Raven spot and act on repeat spam callers.

  1. Go to spam.dialraven.com/report-spam.
  2. Enter the number in the Spam Number box.
  3. Click REPORT.

Tip: Copy the number straight from your ConnectUC call history so you don’t mistype it.

Block a caller yourself

  1. In ConnectUC, click your user icon, then Preferences → Blocked Numbers.
  2. Type the number under Add a Number and click the + button.
  3. Optionally tick Block anonymous or unknown numbers to stop callers who hide their caller ID.

This blocks the number for your extension only. To block a number for the whole company, contact support or your admin.

Heads up: Blocking anonymous callers can also block real callers, like some doctors’ offices or hospitals that hide their number. Add important numbers under Allowed Numbers.

Stop spam texts

If you get unwanted texts on your business number, reply BLOCK to that number. You’ll stop getting messages from it, and the sender isn’t told. Reply UNBLOCK to undo it.

Tips to cut down on spam

  • Don’t answer and press keys on robocalls. It tells spammers the number is live.
  • Don’t call back unknown numbers that hang up after one ring.
  • Report repeat callers each time.

What about calls that show our own number?

Spammers sometimes fake caller ID, including numbers that look like yours. If customers say they’re getting calls “from you” that you didn’t make, contact support so we can look into it.

Common questions

Will blocking stop the number completely?

It stops calls from that number to you. Spammers often switch numbers, so keep reporting new ones.

Does reporting a number block it?

Reporting sends it to Dial Raven for review. To stop it ringing you right away, also add it to your blocked list.

Can you block a number for all our users?

Contact support with the number and we’ll look at the options for your account.
