Mass Texting (SMS Blast) — common questions
What is SMS Blast?
SMS Blast is Dial Raven's bulk texting app. You import your customer list, write one message, and send it to everyone from your business number. Replies come back to a shared inbox.
Do I need to be a Dial Raven phone customer?
Yes. SMS Blast sends from your Dial Raven business number, so it's available to customers on our phone system. Ask us to add it to your account.
How much does SMS Blast cost?
Plans are monthly with texts included: Lite $19 (1,000 texts), Growth $39 (2,500), Plus $79 (6,000) and Max $149 (12,500). A text over 160 characters counts as more than one, and a picture message counts as 3. Larger volumes get a custom plan. See all plans on our pricing page.
What is 10DLC and do I need it?
10DLC is the carrier registration required to send business texts from a regular local number. Dial Raven handles the registration for you. Texting is turned on once carriers approve it.
Can people opt out?
Yes. The first text to each person ends with "Reply STOP to opt out." Anyone who replies STOP is removed automatically and won't get further texts unless they reply START.
Can I send texts with pictures?
Yes. Add a picture link and the blast goes out as an MMS.
Can healthcare practices use it?
Yes, for general messages like office closures, scheduling reminders without details, and announcements. Texting isn't a secure channel, so don't include health details, diagnoses, or other protected information.
