Install ConnectUC on your phone
Download the ConnectUC mobile app for iPhone or Android, sign in, and allow the permissions it needs to ring.
The ConnectUC mobile app puts your business line on your smartphone. Callers see your company number, not your personal cell number.
Before you start
- An iPhone with iOS 16.4 or newer, or an Android phone with Android 12 or newer.
- Your ConnectUC username (for example
101@yourcompany) and password.
Heads up: If another business calling app is signed in to your extension on this phone, remove it first. Two calling apps on one phone can cause missed calls.
Install the app
- Open the store on your phone:
- iPhone: ConnectUC on the App Store
- Android: ConnectUC on Google Play
- Tap install.
- Open ConnectUC.
- Enter your username in the extension@domain format.
- Enter your password and sign in.
- Allow every permission the app asks for: microphone, notifications, and contacts if you want them.
Skipping permissions is the most common reason the app doesn’t ring.
Sign in with a QR code
- On your computer, open ConnectUC and go to Preferences → Apps.
- Find the QR code under Already have the Mobile App?.
- On your phone, open ConnectUC and choose the QR code option on the sign-in screen.
- Scan the code on your computer screen. You don’t need to type your username or password.
The same page also has QR codes that open the App Store and Google Play, handy if you haven’t installed the app yet.
Tip: Scan from inside the ConnectUC app. Your phone’s camera app won’t sign you in.
Get to know the app
- Tap your avatar in the top-left corner for status, Do Not Disturb, preferences, and sign out.
- Calls shows your call history, parked calls, and meetings.
- Messages holds SMS, chat, and fax.
- + New at the top right starts a new call, text, chat, or meeting.
- The dial pad button at the bottom is always there.
Keep it ringing
- Use the app at least once every 30 days. If it sits unused longer, you’ll need to sign out and back in.
- Turn off your phone’s Focus or Do Not Disturb mode during work hours.
- Avoid Low Power Mode or battery saver for ConnectUC.
- On Android, allow ConnectUC to run in the background and use mobile data.
- On iPhone, allow Background App Refresh and Cellular Data for ConnectUC.
If it still doesn’t ring, see ConnectUC isn’t ringing.
Common questions
Can I install it on two phones?
It’s not recommended. One login on two phones can cause missed rings and wrong presence. Use one phone.
Does it work on an iPad or tablet?
It can, but the screen isn’t optimized for it, and the device must be able to make calls. A phone works best.
My iPhone hangs up when I press the side button. Why?
Newer iOS versions have a setting for this. Go to Settings → Accessibility → Touch and turn on Prevent Lock to End Call.
Some buttons at the bottom are cut off.
Your phone’s display zoom or large text is likely turned up. Set display zoom to standard and text size back to the default.
